Despite of progress in human civilization, the slavery and slavery like practices have been continued in changed and more complex forms. Slavery is worst practice of unfair labor relation. Slavery practices dehumanize the human dignity, reinforce discrimination and increase the violence, conflict and unequal social growth. Therefore, Swatantrata Abhiyan works against all forms of slavery and slavery like practices.

Domestic Work and Domestic Workers
More than 200 thousand domestic workers are in Nepal. Domestic work is an employment to perform household chores with in employment relation whether direct or indirect; full time or partial; residential or non-residential. Largely women are dominated and faced problems of unfair labor relations including slavery, debt bondage, sexual and physical violence. We want to promote decent work for domestic workers through establishing fair labor relation and application of labor standards; adoption and application of ILO Convention 138, 182 and 189.
Child Labor
1.6 million children are found in Child Labor in Nepal with 621 thousand in Hazardous forms; largely internal migrants with family consent, in lure of education and other beneficial opportunities; face problems of unfair labor relations including slavery, debt bondage, trafficking, sexual and physical violence and separation from families. Child labor is employment of children under 18 years in a third party house or workplace or employment more than 24 hours a week in own house and family.
We want to promote safe and fair working place for 15-18 years children with total elimination of under 14 years child laborers and worst form of child labor through revision of existing child labor act, localization of anti child labor interventions and implementation of child labor elimination master plan.
Migrant Workers (Foreign Employment)
More than 3 million Nepalese are abroad mainly GCC and Middle East, Malaysia, Korea as workers with 350 thousand plus each year leaving the country. The migrant workers are suffering of paid recruitment; debt bondage; document confiscation; control of mobility and freedom of choice of employment along with trafficking, sexual and physical violence.
We want to promote fair recruitment that includes; Employer paid recruitment process; State Authority Certified Skill; Bothe Country recognized Recruitment Agency; Decentralized Open and Fair Competition; Inter NHRIs cooperation for grievance handling.
